Improv Comedy Montreal
The best Montreal Improv Comedy at Theatre Ste. Catherine is performing on Sunday, November 30, at 8pm. The tickets are $5 at the door. You can get a beer, cooler or soft drink at the bar.
Improv comedy proves that what is funny comes not from rehearsals but from… being yourself. Each scene is a clash of perceptions and personalities of different people in situations that grow stranger by the minute. Each finale is a surprise, larger then the previous one as both the actors and the audience let go and enjoy the ride into the absurd but so truth telling world of improv comedy.

'Closer' at Player's Theatre
A provocative play of modern relationships as four lovers become entangled in a web of love, lust, sex, and betrayal.
(In 2004 there was a movie under the same title with Jude Law, Natalie Portman, Julia Robers, Clive Owen.)
The pace of the play varied. The third act was a farce, which is where the actors and audience finally loosened up or, in some cases, woke up. The rest was not for people with ADD, with interesting and well-developed dialogues it was more of a food for thought kind than keeping you on your toes kind. Listening to and watching the character of Alice working as a stripper one had to wonder how come women are so great at impersonating these “free-spirited” souls. Larry’s character (medicine doctor) turned out to be an interesting one for it had the ability to observe, analyze and learn from his experiences and in my opinion was the eventual winner of the whole… mess.

Exploring Past Lives
With a few friends we went to a workshop by Steve Piccuss to explore our past lives. Every one of us came out of this experience with a story and a bunch of images. Some came out with a karmic lesson that their past life contained, sometimes a very emotional one. I wouldn’t bet that what I saw had anything to do with any of my past lives, but it sure was quite a ride.

DJ Diplo at Just For Laughs in Montreal
This Saturday DJ Diplo, who works with M.I.A., has a concert at Just For Laughs.
UPDATE: The concert was fantastic as expected, with visual effects (dancing lights synchronized with the music) completing the overall feeling of mayhem. Funny, but several people remarked before the conert that it feelt like a senior highschool dance, just with amazing music.
